Verses About Peace

Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:1)

That you were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off are made near in the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in his flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making peace, and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, having killed the hostility through it. He came and preached peace to you who were far off and to those who were near. For through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. (Ephesians 2:12-18)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)

The zeal of Yahweh of Armies will perform this. (Isaiah 9:6-7)

Peace begets peace. We are better positioned to experience God’s peace when we coexist in harmony with the people around us. In a world that’s divided and filled with strife, we Christians are called to be ministers of reconciliation. As we are first reconciled to God, we can conduct our relationships in a way that brings unity rather than division. Prepare your heart to live peaceably with people around you by meditating on these peace Bible verses.

Depart from evil, and do good. Seek peace, and pursue it. (Psalm 34:14)

When a man’s ways please Yahweh, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. (Proverbs 16:7)

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. (Matthew 5:9)

Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.” Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.” Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:17-21)

“If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother. But if he doesn’t listen, take one or two more with you, that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the assembly. If he refuses to hear the assembly also, let him be to you as a Gentile or a tax collector. (Matthew 18:15-17)

I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. (1 Timothy 2:1-2)

Finally, brothers, rejoice! Be perfected. Be comforted. Be of the same mind. Live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you. (2 Corinthians 13:11)

For, “He who would love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good. Let him seek peace and pursue it. (I Peter 3:10-11)

Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. (James 3:18)

Finding Peace When Fear Surrounds

God wants you to enjoy peace in all your affairs, and you have His unfailing Word to cling to. Instead of fretting and panicking every time troubles hit, do what Peter instructs in 1 Peter 5:7: cast all your cares on the Lord.

That’s the secret to finding true peace when fear surrounds you.

Fear paralyzes the potential of faith, so don’t give it a foothold in your life. Feed on God’s precious promises in the peace scriptures highlighted above. Believe and confess them with your mouth.

Pray them out in faith and trust the Prince of Peace to intervene.

While you do all these, maintain a joyful spirit. Joy is the spiritual sickle for harvesting God’s promises. As you do this, remember that the Bible says that the peace of God that transcends all understanding will guard your heart and mind.

As you anchor your hope in God for peace, remember that peace breeds peace. So, live peaceably with the people around you. Spread the sweet-smelling savor of God’s love, compassion, and grace to everyone you meet.

Prayer for Peace

Lord Jesus, I come before You today, seeking the lasting peace only You can give. I lay all my worries and anxieties before You, trusting that Your promise of peace surpasses all understanding.

Dear Father, please remove the burdens that weigh me down. Replace my stress and sorrows with Your comforting presence.

Guide my journeys and allow peace to reign in my home, health, work, and everything I lay my hands on. Whenever I face trials and feel tempted to doubt, teach me the quiet strength of faith. Help me to wait and trust in You, knowing that You make things beautiful in Your perfect time.

In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
